Jenny Pipes Workshop New Members Wanted

Jenny Pipes Morris, long established in the Leominster Community, and named after one of its most infamous inhabitants, is to run a free Morris Dancing workshop next month.

The Group of local women, who travel from a distance of up to 25 miles to practice in the town every Thursday evening are looking for new blood to swell their numbers. The side has been a regular fixture in the area for almost 25 years,  performing their Cotswold tradition Morris dances, most recently entertaining a large crowd at the Leominster Apple Fair.

Morris dancing in the UK is having a resurgence of interest partly as a result of last years film- Morris A Life With Bells On, with lots of young people recognising the unique blend of aerobic exercise, traditional music and performance art.

The women of Jenny Pipes Morris are offering the chance for any budding performers to experience the chance to learn some dances for themselves at a FREE workshop.  The workshop is the be held at The Forbury Centre, leominster on Thursday February 9th from 7.30-9pm.

No experience is necessary, but some sense of rhythm and a sense of humour are vital!

The team members can be found on Facebook (Jenny Pipes Morris) and anyone interested in the workshop can turn up on the night, or contact them there.
