The story of Garnstone goes back to the 14th century and there is evidence of a motte and bailey castle nearby. Garnstone Castle, designed by John Nash for Samuel Peploe in 1807, was demolished in 1958.
The history of the present Garnstone House begins in the 1950s. Formerly a Dower house, Dawn and Michael took up residence in the mid 1990s.
We are open all year round.
The bedrooms at Garnstone House are luxuriously furnished to the highest standards and the windows look out over the lovely gardens.
We have one double or twin bedroom, both with a separate, well-equipped bathroom.
Breakfast comes with delicious organic sausages and local free-range eggs. The scrumptious marmalades and jams are made by Dawn herself. A vegetarian breakfast can be provided by arrangement.
Please note that walkers are welcome and that pets are welcome by prior arrangement.
